Laputka Stage Manager - Alison Scott WHERE AND WHEN:Tuesday, October 28, 7pm-9pmSaturday, November 1, 2pm-5pmat the Pennsylvania Theatre of Performing Arts, 212 W Broad St, Hazleton PA 18201*Auditions will be held in the rehearsal studios in the theatre basement. Please enter the building at the rear stage doors on Mine Street and follow signs downstairs to the audition space.

SHOW DATES & TIMES: Thursday, December 11 @ 7pm (Private Performance) Friday, December 12 @ 7pmSaturday, December 13 @ 7pmSunday, December 14 @ 3pm AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: *Those participating will be provided with an audition form to complete upon entering the theatre. Please have a list of rehearsal conflicts that you are aware of between the dates of Nocember 2 and December 6 ready to be submitted. There will be a mandatory tech week of rehearsals from December 7-10. *In-person auditions are preferred, but video submissions will be accepted until November 2 @ 11:59 PM. Anyone interested in completing a video audition should email artisticdirector@ptpashows.org SYNOPSIS: CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS: *ALL ROLES are open! Every role (with the exception of Scrooge) will also play several small or incidental roles. Below are listed the major roles and their respective age requirements.* Ebenezer Scrooge (Adult) A cruel, covetous, and hardened moneylender who undergoes a profound change of heart through the course of the play.
Bob Cratchit (Adult) Scrooge’s noble, but poor, clerk. A family man with a simple and gentle nature.
Fred (Adult) Scrooge’s earnest and good natured nephew. The son of his deceased, beloved sister, Fan.
Jacob Marley (Adult) The ghost of Scrooge’s dead partner and harbinger of his fate. A heartless businessman in life, Marley has learned too late the error of his ways and returned to offer Scrooge a chance at redemption.
Mrs. Cratchit (Adult) A hard working mother, critical of her husband’s tyrannical employer.
Proprietress/Mrs. Fezziwig (Adult) Owner of the local pub/wife of Fezziwig. Cheerful, affable personality.
Ghost of Christmas Present (Adult) Boisterous and full of cheer. The embodiment of “good will toward men.” Scrooge’s guide through the world of his current life.
Ghost of Christmas Past (Any) Small of stature and at once both young and old. Scrooge’s guide through his own history.
Young Scrooge (Young Adult) A poor young man who grows jaded over time and clings to wealth as a battlement against the hardships of life.
Belle (Young Adult) Scrooge’s former fiancee.
Boy Scrooge (Child) A lonely child who finds joy in books.
Fan (Child) Scrooge’s younger sister. Tiny Tim (Child) The youngest of the Cratchit children. Sick of body, but strong of spirit.
