WHERE AND WHEN: AUDITION DATES:Wednesday, August 12, and Thursday, August 13, at 6pmat the Pennsylvania Theatre of Performing Arts, 212 W Broad St, Hazleton PA 18201*Auditions will be held in the rehearsal studios in the theatre basement. Please enter the building at the rear stage doors on Mine Street and follow signs downstairs to the audition space.*All auditionees should arrive ON TIME on chosen date of auditions, as auditions will start with a 16-count group dance routine before individual vocal and reading auditions.
SHOW DATES:Friday, November 6 @ 7pmSaturday, November 7 @ 2pm (Sensory Friendly performance) & 7pm Sunday, November 8 @ 2pm
Performances will also be held at the Pennsylvania Theatre of Performing Arts, 212 W Broad St, Hazleton PA 18201 AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: *Those participating will be provided with an audition form to complete upon entering the theatre. Please have a list of rehearsal conflicts that you are aware of between the dates of August 16- November 8 ready to be submitted.
*Auditionees should prepare 16-32 bars (approximately between :45 and 1:30) of a song from the show or in the style of the show and come with a karaoke track to sing along with on their phone. There will be no piano accompanist at the audition.
*Youth auditioning are encouraged to come in loose fitting, comfortable clothes as well as sneakers or jazz shoes and will be taught a 32 count dance audition. Please be aware that ALL roles in this show are very dance heavy including the leads so be prepared for a lot of dancing.
*If Audition Callbacks are necessary, auditionees will be contacted individually regarding dates and vocal requirements. Potential callback date Saturday, August 16 starting at 10am
*VIDEO SUBMISSIONS of vocal auditions will also be accepted until Thursday, August 13 @ 11:59 PM. Youth auditioning via video may be asked in follow-up to send additional videos with scene excerpts from the show or an additional song/part of a song. Please email artisticdirector@ptpashows.org if you are unable to make an in-person audition date and and an audition form will be sent back to be filled out. Upon completion of the form information, a video of the youth performing their vocal audition and indicated sides should be emailed back by the date above. SYNOPSIS: Based on the popular Disney Channel Original Movies, Disney's Descendants: The Musical is a brand-new musical jam-packed with comedy, adventure, Disney characters, and hit songs from the films!
Imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost – home of the most infamous villains who ever lived – the teenaged children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil have never ventured off the island… until now. When the four troublemakers are sent to attend prep school alongside the children of beloved Disney heroes, they have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?
