The Ultimate Audition is a competition performance where the award recipient is given the opportunity to select a production for the coming season (2023) where they are guaranteed to portray the character of their dreams!
Think "American Idol" but musical theatre ONLY!
There are two (2) categories:
Playground Performers, where the contestant is under 18
Mainstage Performers, where the contestant is 18+.
The contestant will need to have 2 songs in their repertoire for the evening.
One for their initial round, and the second for the finals. Both will take place on August 27th.
While there is no registration fee, all registered performers will be required to sell a block of tickets for the event.
There will be a panel of judges who will ask questions of the contestants and score them on their performance. These scores will determine who will progress to the final round.
Additionally, there is an AUDIENCE CHOICE award, where all attendees who are present for the evening get to vote for their favorite performer. The winners of the Playground and Mainstage Audience Choice Awards receive an automatic bid to the finals!
At registration, each contestant will be expected to complete a show selection form where they provide a list of their top 5 shows in which they have a character of their choice to perform, in addition to providing their time of year preference. After the winners have been selected, the season selection committee will review these titles and decide which title would be the best fit for the PTPA 2023 Season.
There will be one winner selected from each category!
PTPA reserves the right to cap the number of contestants as needed as registrations begin to fill up.
Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
